Электромагнитное орудие, также известное как рельсотрон или рейлган, считается перспективным вооружением. Рельсотрон стреляет, используя силу Лоренца, которая возникает между двумя рельсами, находящимися под электрическим напряжением. Таким образом, оружие потребует лишь «болванки» и мощного источника напряжения, что существенно изменит военную логистику и стиль ведения боя в будущем.
На видео показаны испытания электромагнитного орудия Blitzer компании General Atomic мощностью 3 мегаджоуля, проходившие на испытательном полигоне Dugway Proving Ground в штате Юта.
